The barrels are made of a wood that is endorsed by the Forest Certification Programme, and each one is finished with an environmentally friendly water-based varnish. Castell 9000 Pencils are smooth with a leads that have been finely ground, and are perfect for drawing, detailed studies and sketches.

The Pitt Graphite Matte Pencils have an ultra-matte graphite laydown giving them reduced reflection on paper. They have the highest tonal value density, and are ideally suited for monochrome graphite artwork, achieving maximum depth and effect.
