This is ideal for painters seeking to paint-from-life more, but who struggle to prioritize that time in their own schedules.
Great for artists looking to supplement Amy's Wed AM classes.
A 4- hour class offering more uninterrupted painting time, small group discussion, individual instruction, problem-solving, and new ways of seeing that naturally arise in group painting sessions.
Be a part of the design process from composing the still life to painting the subject from life.
Paint along with Amy as your own skills develop and your own style evolves.
In Amy's words: "The French Impressionists make me see light. The Russian Impressionists make me see paint! These are my greatest artistic influences. I will be setting up varied still life compositions that I'm excited to paint from life and use as vehicles for experimentation and exploration on canvas. My current interests include "lost edges"; "broken color"; bold color juxtaposed with neutrals; and experimentation with texture. Supplies:
B.Y.O.Supplies for painting and sketching
Amy will supply the props and compose them. But students may bring objects from home, as well.
CLASS ATTENDANCE POLICY: All students must pay the full amount for the class at the beginning of the month before going upstairs to the classroom. The payment is for four (4) consecutive classes. Classes may not be carried over to the next month. If you know that you will not be able to attend a class beforehand, talk to your teacher about scheduling a make-up session. Please be mindful that your class fee pays the teacher, who is here teaching, whether you are present or not. Please consider the purchasing of a class as the same thing as purchasing a ticket to a theater performance, a music recital, or a similar event.
